A Director With A Master's Degree in Christian Education
The qualified educators and support staff at R.O.C.K. Club are dedicated to providing exceptional childcare that supports the family structure. Our Director, Chris Blackburn, has a Master’s Degree in Christian Education and has been a strong leader for the R.O.C.K. Club since June of 2013. Chris and his wife of 29 years, Tina, have been leaders within the community since August of 2008, serving as the children’s pastor at Compassion Radford (formerly Radford Worship Center).

Chris Blackburn received his B.S. in Communication (Speech) with a Minor in History and Political Science from Radford University in 1993. Previously employed as a Sales Consultant for Premier (School Specialty), Chris’ primary focus was developing programs to assist students with developing the skills necessary to achieve success in the 21st Century, such as time management and planning.
Our Mission is to Provide Loving & Supportive Christ-Centered Care
At the R.O.C.K. Club, our mission is to support the family structure by providing quality, individualized Christ-centered care in a loving, supportive and flexible environment. Our goal is to provide each child with an abundance of love and support. We maintain a staff-to-student ratio of 1:10 to 1:15. We serve children from ages three to twelve at the R.O.C.K. Club. We are here to serve you Monday through Friday from 6:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.
Our Experienced Staff Members Are Dedicated to Our Mission
People who work with and support children are a special kind of people! At the R.O.C.K. Club, we are dedicated to providing the ideal caregivers for your children. Our goal is to carefully choose our staff members according to the following criteria. We hire those who:
- Love & want to work with young children
- Are specially trained & educated in the field of child development
- Have previous experience in child care
- Have a minimum education of a high school diploma (full-time employees) or who are pursuing a high school diploma (part-time employees)
- Love the Lord Jesus & have a deep devotion to Him
- Are physically & mentally capable of working with young children
- Are dedicated to the mission of our program
There is always at least one staff member present in each classroom and on every trip who is certified in First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross.
